Bladder stones and crystals cause straining, blood in the urine and frequent trips to the litter tray. In male cats they can block the urethra, which is an emergency.

Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie is a veterinary wet food for cats with urinary problems. Royal Canin designs it to help dissolve struvite stones and lower the risk of struvite and calcium oxalate stones forming.

The Moderate Calorie version has fewer calories than standard Urinary S/O. It suits neutered or less active cats that tend to gain weight, which is itself a risk factor for bladder problems.

• Changing food. Switch to a new food over about 7 days, mixing a little more of it into the old food each day. This helps avoid an upset stomach.
• Water. Keep fresh, clean drinking water available for your cat at all times.
