Purdruff Shampoo is a medicated shampoo from Sava Vet that contains piroctone olamine. Piroctone olamine is an antifungal used in anti-dandruff shampoos.

It is used for dandruff and flaky skin and mild yeast overgrowth on the skin. Speak to your vet first if your pet is unwell, very young, old or on other medicines.

How to Use

  • Washing. Wet the coat with lukewarm water and work the shampoo into a lather down to the skin, starting at the neck and working back.
  • Contact time. Leave the lather on for the time the pack or your vet advises, often 5 to 10 minutes for medicated products, then rinse very thoroughly.
  • How often. Use as often as your vet advises. Medicated washes are often used two or three times a week at first, then less often.

Safety and Precautions

  • Keep out of the eyes.
  • Stop your pet licking the treated area until it is dry or absorbed. A cone collar helps.
  • If your pet's condition does not improve, or gets worse, stop and see your vet.
