Fredunvet Freossi Metlichlo Cat for Cats, 20g
About Freossi Metlichlo Cat
When your cat is unwell, the right medicine and your vet's advice make recovery faster and safer.
Freossi Metlichlo Cat is a gel from Fredunvet that contains lignocaine (lidocaine), chlorhexidine and metronidazole. Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that kills bacteria and yeast.
Vets commonly use it for numbing before minor procedures, painful skin and mouth problems, and some heart rhythm problems. Your vet will confirm it suits your cat and set the dose and how long to give it.

| Ingredient | What it does |
|---|---|

| Chlorhexidine | An antiseptic that kills bacteria and yeast on skin and in the ear canal. |
| Metronidazole | Kills anaerobic bacteria and gut parasites such as Giardia. |
Features and Benefits
- Bacteria and Giardia. Covers anaerobic bacteria and protozoa such as Giardia, which cause diarrhoea.
- Gel. Light and easy to spread.
- Vet-guided. Your vet sets the dose and length of treatment for your cat.
How It Works
- Lignocaine (lidocaine). It blocks sodium channels in nerves, so pain signals cannot pass.
- Chlorhexidine. It damages the outer layer of bacteria and yeast so they die.
- Metronidazole. It damages the DNA of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, so they cannot survive.
How to Use
- Dose. Give Freossi Metlichlo Cat exactly as your vet prescribes. The dose depends on your cat's weight, age and condition.
- Applying. Clean and dry the area, then apply a thin layer to the affected area.
- Stop licking. Stop your pet licking the area until it dries. Your vet may suggest a cone.
- Storage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, unless the pack gives other storage directions. Keep out of reach of children.
Safety and Precautions
- Use only the amount your vet advises. Too much can affect the heart and nervous system.
- Do not use it in the ear if the eardrum may be damaged, unless your vet says it is safe.
- It has a very bitter taste and can cause drooling or loss of appetite.
- Stop and call your vet straight away if your pet becomes wobbly, has a head tilt, unusual eye movements or fits.
- Cats are sensitive to lignocaine. Use it on a cat only as your vet directs.
- For external use only. Keep it away from the eyes and mouth unless your vet says otherwise.
